Do Something Funny for Money!

Fancy Dress Football

On Saturday 7th March Junior players from AFC Corsham will be celebrating Red Nose Day 2009 by wearing something ridiculous to football to raise buckets of cash for Comic Relief! Players will get sponsored to battle it out on the Leafy Lane playing fields with the best costume and performance winning a prize.

Followed by:-

Parents’ game: Barnstoneworth Utd (Yorkshire premier league winners 1925) v The Rest of The World The sponsored exhibition of world class football will take place at Leafy Lane Playing Fields, Rudloe, Corsham. On Saturday 7th March from 10am to 11.30, the players will put on their silliest kit ever and enjoy some football all in the name of charity! They’ll invite all their friends, family and neighbours to show their support by sponsoring them and they hope to raise big bucks for a great cause.

Every penny they raise will go to Comic Relief to help transform lives across Africa and the UK.

Club Chairman, Chris Hayes says, “The players are all willing to give it a go for Red Nose Day 2009 and are already getting sponsorship. We’ve invited Diego Marrawanna to strengthen the Rest of the World midfield but even without her we’ve got a good chance since the combined age of the Barnstoneworth team is 1067″
